Rosamund Small - Writer

Rosamund Small is an award-winning professional playwright, dramaturge, and TV writer.

Her plays include three projects with Outside the March: Vitals (Dora Award for Outstanding New Play and Outstanding Production, 2014), TomorrowLove (CBC’s top ten cultural events of the year, 2016), and Performance Review (Dora Nomination for Outstanding New Play, 2025).

She has adapted an Edith Wharton novel for Soulpepper (Sisters, 2018) and is at work on a new co-commission for Soulpepper and Musical Stage. Her television career includes writing for several CBC shows, including Kim’s Convenience, Strays and TallBoyz.

Her dramaturgy work includes a wide range of projects, from musicals to solo shows to adaptation to dance, including multiple works in collaboration with ballet choreographer Robert Binet.

Rosamund holds a masters from The University of Toronto (OISE), where her research focused on the pedagogy of creative writing. Rosamund is a sessional instructor of playwriting at the University of Toronto.
